New ToughPleat Molded End Cap Polyurethane Series

Epic Resins ToughPleat

This month Epic Resins, an epoxy resin and polyurethane manufacturing company, announces the launch of a new line of molded end cap polyurethanes, ToughPleat Series.

ToughPleat is a series of two-component polyurethanes for molded end caps. This solvent-free formula is designed to have excellent tear resistance and high strength for demanding molded filter end cap applications. Being a strong, flexible material, ToughPleat is well-suited for filters that will be subjected to constant pulsing, pressure drops and/or may take some effort to remove or install. The high tear resistance prevents the filter from being damaged during the installation or removal process.

With a convenient mix ratio by volume and low viscosity, the ToughPleat Series is easy to dispense and can be used with many types of metering equipment. The fast gel time ensures a quick turnover of filters, helping to reduce WIP time in many production configurations.

Benefits for molded end cap applications: High tensile strength, high elongation, excellent tear resistance, easy to dispense, reduce WIP time.

Epic Resins is an established international leader in epoxy and polyurethane resin manufacturing based in Palmyra, WI. Founded in 1958, Epic Resins has formulated, manufactured and supplied resins for a wide range of industries, specializing in potting and encapsulation compounds, edge molding and adhesives. Epic Resins is committed to serving our global customers as a trusted partner in superior quality resins and polymers to enhance their profitability and performance.

Aeropress has launched a reusable steel filter

AeroPress stainless-steel reusable filter

AeroPress has debuted a new stainless-steel filter that is reusable and durable, making it travel-friendly, eco-friendly, and sustainable. The new AeroPress reusable metal filter is the only metal filter designed and made by AeroPress and keeps out grit but allows flavorful oils to pass through for a full-bodied coffee.

In a substantial improvement to other filters currently on the market, the AeroPress reusable filter is made from premium grade 316 stainless steel. This material is much more durable and corrosion resistant than the 304-grade stainless steel used in other filters.

The filter is also made in the USA, unlike many other filters on the market. Its 178-micron hole size is small enough to ensure minimal grit but large enough for easy pressing.

According to AeroPress, because it’s so durable, the AeroPress reusable filter is the perfect brewing companion for traveling and the outdoors. Clean-up requires a quick rinse, though it can also be cleaned on the top rack of the dishwasher.
