INDA and AFS Announce Partnership for the FiltXPO™ 2025 Conference Program

INDA, the Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry, and AFS, the American Filtration & Separations Society, announced they are entering into a strategic partnership to create the FiltXPO™ 2025 Conference Program. FiltXPO, the International Filtration Conference & Exhibition, will co-locate with IDEA®25 from April 29 to May 1, 2025, in the Miami Beach Convention Center, Miami Beach, Florida.

The theme for FiltXPO 2025 is “The Future of Filtration: Advancing Technology, Performance & Sustainability.” The two-day FiltXPO conference program will feature technical insights into filtration innovations and technologies from industry professionals worldwide. INDA and AFS will issue a call for abstracts in the next few weeks.

Bluewater Bio Wins Contract in Bahrain

Bluewater Bio’s has won a £33 million contract to upgrade the North Sitra wastewater treatment works in Bahrain. This follows previous significant upgrades that are now treating over 50% of the wastewater generated in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Continually recognized by external parties as the fastest growing water technology company in Europe over the years, expansion in the Middle East is an important aspect to their growth strategy.

The contract was formally concluded and signed in Westminster, at the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) headquarters. In attendance were senior representatives from both UK and Bahraini Governments.

Bluewater Bio will be responsible for all aspects of engineering, acting as EPC contractor and technology supplier, through the provision of their advanced treatment technologies, HYBACS® and FilterClear®. As the result of population and industrial expansion, additional and enhanced treatment capacity is required to continue to produce treated water suitable for reuse.

Contract duration will be 24 months and, once completed, the works will have a new capacity of 30 MLD, doubling the current volume.

As chief marketing & communications officer, Tenten will be responsible for strategic objectives in the areas of branding, marketing and communications. Tenten has more than two decades of experience in developing marketing and communications strategies implementing brand to demand engagement models, most recently serving as vice president and CMO for Europe, Middle East and Africa at IBM.

DuPont’s Caleb Funk, Ph.D., Named 2024 Gordon E. Moore Medalist

The Society of Chemical Industry (SCI) America announced that Caleb Funk, Ph.D. is this year’s recipient of the 21st annual Gordon E. Moore medal. SCI established the Gordon E. Moore medal to recognize early-career success in innovation, as reflected both in market impact and improvement to quality of life.

Funk, Lead R&D Scientist at DuPont, will be presented the award at Innovation Day, hosted jointly by SCI and the Science History Institute, on September 9, 2024, at the Science History Institute in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

New Product Enables Ceramic Membranes to Achieve Performance Breakthroughs
