Freudenberg expands gas-phase filtration services

Maintenance, repairs and unplanned downtime in manufacturing can be costly, and the corrosive effect of polluted or contaminated air in production facilities is often the culprit. Demand for comprehensive gas-phase filtration is rising, and increasingly sophisticated solutions now are required to protect critical systems.

Freudenberg Filtration Technologies is responding to the need by expanding its range of products and services through investments in technology, staff and new business acquisitions.

Freudenberg Filtration Technologies last year acquired a gas-phase filtration business in North America signaling its expansion into this market. Today, the company continues to expand its product line, offering all related services and solutions from a single source: from on-site contaminant analysis to the selection of filter media and filter units to permanent monitoring.

“We are now investing in expanded capability for Viledon┬« Gas Phase in North America, including manufacturing, testing capability and research & development,” noted Chris Murray, regional director of Industrial Filtration North America at Freudenberg Filtration Technologies.

Freudenberg Filtration Technologies gas-phase products and services are currently used in the fields of pulp and paper, petrochemicals, industrial chemicals, mining and smelting, laboratories, pharmaceuticals, microelectronics, grain processing and fertilizers.

Corrosion can wreak havoc on critical systems: an oxidized printed circuit board or a defective plug connection can cripple entire production processes. Optimized filtration can prevent such damage.

High-quality gas-phase filtration systems are especially effective in contamination control.

The Viledon gas-phase filter product line improves indoor air quality for the protection of personnel as well as providing corrosion control for sensitive products, processes and equipment. The sophisticated filtration technology, which includes both ChemControl filter pellets and Freudenberg’s innovative Versacomb honeycomb media, is designed to protect all sensitive process areas, including computer systems and switchgear, to compressors, motor controls, electronic cabinets and many other types of essential equipment.

Viledon solutions meet all relevant international quality and performance standards, including the International Society of Automation (ISA) 71.04-1985 standard for corrosion levels on electronic and electrical equipment.

Freudenberg Filtration Technologies has offices in 30 countries, with the reach and network to respond quickly with solutions to customer filtration challenges.

The Viledon brand also offers filtration solutions in a wide range of market segments, including gas turbines and compressors, automotive surface treatment and refinishing, liquid membrane filtration and water solutions.

The company’s recent quick and decisive response to the demand for gas-phase filtration and its integration into the Viledon┬« business is indicative of Freudenberg Filtration Technologies’ future-orientedapproach.

“I am excited about our continued growth and focus in the industrial process filtration segment,” Murray said.
