Metso Outotec Becomes Metso

Metso Outotec’s Annual General Meeting (AGM recently approved the Board of Directors’ proposal to change the company name to Metso Corporation.

“After the successful integration of Metso and Outotec, we will focus on growing a strong unified Metso company and brand,” said President and CEO of Metso, Pekka Vauramo.

“We have combined two valuable companies into one strong Metso. Our focus is clear: we continue enabling sustainable modern life and transforming the industry with a clear strategy and strong culture, supported by a name that is short yet established and well recognized among all our stakeholders. Services are an extremely important part of our business, requiring a strong name,” he continued.
Outotec continues as a product brand and carries significant value as the name of some key technologies and products.

The change of the parent company name Metso Corporation is effective starting May 4, 2023, but globally the change will be implemented in a phased manner. The visual identity of the company remains unchanged, but the new name is reflected in the company logo.

Metso Outotec’s Executive Team has been renamed Metso Leadership Team (MLT).

Celeros Flow Technology to sell its Filtration Business

Celeros Flow Technology (Celeros FT) has announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to sell its Filtration business unit to London headquartered private equity firm, Px3 Partners (Px3). Celeros FT is held by funds affiliated with Apollo Global Management, Inc.

Under the terms of the agreement, Px3 will purchase the Filtration business, which provides consumable, mission critical industrial filtration systems that allow customers to sustain their industrial processes and protect the environment by increasing efficiency, reducing emissions, and decreasing waste. The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals and closing conditions.

Upon completion of the transaction, Celeros FT intends to accelerate the strategic transformation of its market leading flow control solutions through reinvestment in the business, its employees, and the pursuit of strategic acquisitions that complement its core strengths.

NX Filtration Appoints Jeroen Pynenburg as CEO

NX Filtration, a global provider of direct nanofiltration technology for pure and affordable water, announced the appointment of Jeroen Pynenburg as CEO. Michiel Staatsen, who currently holds both the positions of CEO and COO, will focus on his role in the management board as COO.

Pynenburg will join NX Filtration as CEO per 11 May 2023 and the supervisory board will nominate him for appointment as member of the management board at an extraordinary general meeting to be held on 21 Jun 2023.

Pynenburg has a track-record of managing strong growth at ESG companies over the past several years. He held the position of business unit director of electric vehicle charging equipment at Alfen, leading the growth of this business from €26m revenues in 2019 to more than €250m in 2022. Prior to that, Pynenburg was a global lead for electric vehicle infrastructure service and applications at ABB.

Filtration Group Appoints Eric Young as President for IAQ

Eric Young has been appointed president, Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) at Filtration Group. Young will support the general managers who run Filtration Group’s Indoor Air Quality businesses, with a focus on mission, culture and talent.

Young has extensive experience driving organic growth and increasing profitability in industrial businesses. He previously served as senior vice president and general manager, OEM Solutions (MRO parts distribution) at AAR Corporation, a diversified aerospace and defense services provider. Prior to taking on that role in 2015, Young served as vice president and general manager of AAR Nordisk Aviation Products, a global cargo container manufacturing business. He also held roles at Goldman Sachs and LEK Consulting.
