Mann+Hummel introduces nanofiber filter media for cabin air applications

Mann+Hummel’s nanofiber filter media is now available for cabin air filters for automotive applications. The nanofiber filter media consists of a carrier media and a slyer of ultra-fine polymer fibers. The filter media provides efficient separation of particles, including PM2.5 and PM1. An ePM1 classification of the nanofiber filter media was achieved according to ISO 16890, meaning that the filtration efficiency of PM1 particles can reach up to 95%.

The nanofiber media has a lower reduction of filtration efficiency after aging and is resistant against environmental conditions, such as humidity and temperature fluctuations. The technology can be combined with further media like particle filter media, filter media with active carbon, and a biofunctional layer.
