Cox to Build Latin America’s Largest Desalination Plant in Mexico
Cox, an international group specializing in critical water and energy infrastructure, has been awarded, through a public tender process, the construction of the Rosarito desalination plant in Baja California, Mexico. The project, promoted by the National Water Commission (Conagua), represents an investment of US$304 million and will help strengthen water security in the region, benefiting one million people during its first phase.
The desalination plant is one of the priority initiatives under Mexico’s National Water Plan and will address the water supply needs of Playas de Rosarito and the south-western area of Tijuana.
“This project reaffirms our commitment to Mexico following the acquisition of Iberdrola Mexico. Through this award, we are bringing our expertise in the water sector to a country where we continue to support the development of infrastructure that contributes to people’s well-being and to the country’s sustainable growth. We are proud to collaborate with federal and state authorities on an initiative aligned with the objectives of the National Water Plan and one that will help strengthen the region’s resilience to the challenges associated with climate change,” said Enrique Riquelme, Executive Chairman of Cox.
The first phase of the project includes the construction of a desalination plant with the capacity to treat 2,200 litres per second, enabling the incorporation of approximately 190 million litres of drinking water per day into the regional water supply system. Construction is expected to be completed within three years.
Cox will be responsible for the engineering, procurement of specialised equipment and construction of the infrastructure, which will provide a complementary and independent water source from the Colorado River, strengthening water resource availability in Baja California. The desalination plant will have a final production capacity of 4,400 litres per second, equivalent to more than 380,000 m³ of drinking water per day, making it the largest facility of its kind in Latin America.
The plant will use reverse osmosis technology, an advanced treatment system that employs semi-permeable membranes to remove salts, minerals and impurities from seawater and convert it into drinking water. This technology is recognised for its high operational efficiency, the quality of the water produced and its lower energy intensity compared with other desalination solutions.
Veralto Signs Agreement to Acquire Cleanwater1
Veralto, a global leader in essential water and product quality solutions dedicated to Safeguarding the World’s Most Vital Resources™, announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Cleanwater1 for $465 million, subject to customary closing adjustments. After considering estimated tax benefits, the net purchase price is approximately $452 million. The transaction is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions.
Cleanwater1 is a leading provider of on-site hypochlorite disinfection, solids management and odor filtration technologies with an installed base of approximately 25,000 units across municipal drinking water, wastewater and industrial applications. As a trusted industry leader with deep application expertise, Cleanwater1’s technologies are essential to customers’ daily water treatment operations, helping customers enhance operational efficiency, safety and regulatory compliance.
Cleanwater1’s technologies are complementary to Veralto’s existing water treatment portfolio and will expand Veralto into adjacent, high-growth water treatment applications. With clearly identified commercial synergies between Cleanwater1 and Trojan Technologies ultraviolet water treatment solutions, Veralto expects to accelerate Cleanwater1’s growth rate by leveraging Trojan’s existing customer relationships, applying the Veralto Enterprise System (VES) and increasing Cleanwater1’s recurring revenue over time.
Parker Completes Acquisition of Filtration Group Corporation
Parker Hannifin Corporation, a global leader in motion and control technologies, announced it has completed its previously announced acquisition of Filtration Group Corporation.

Filtration Group Corporation adds to Parker’s portfolio of highly engineered products and leverages deep technical and application knowledge to serve key growth markets, including life sciences, HVAC/R, and in-plant and industrial. The company’s collection of established product brands are validated, specified and often sole-sourced. These capabilities complement Parker’s interconnected technology portfolio and increase its aftermarket presence, which the company expects will create strong recurring revenue streams across multiple product platforms.
Filtration Group Corporation is expected to add approximately $1.8 billion to Parker’s fiscal 2027 sales in the first 10.5 months of ownership. Approximately 60% of sales are expected in the Diversified Industrial Segment North America businesses, and 40% in the International businesses. The acquisition is expected to be neutral to adjusted EPS in the first quarter of fiscal 2027 and accretive to adjusted EPS for the full year fiscal 2027. Parker estimates pre-tax cost synergies of approximately $220 million by the end of year three.

DuPont™ FilmTec™ Fortilife™ XC220 Element Named a Sustainability Product of the Year
DuPont announced that its DuPont™ FilmTec™ Fortilife™ XC220 element has been named a Sustainability Product of the Year by the Business Intelligence Group for its contribution to advancing industrial water reuse, resource recovery, and more sustainable Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) and Minimal Liquid Discharge (MLD) operations.
The FilmTec™ Fortilife™ XC220 element is a high-pressure reverse osmosis solution designed to help industrial operators maximize water recovery and increase brine concentration to levels of up to 220 g/L NaCl, extending membrane-based treatment further into applications traditionally reliant on energy-intensive thermal processes.

Astara Capital Partners Acquires Dynatec Systems
Astara Capital Partners, L.P., a middle-market private equity firm, announced that it has acquired Dynatec Systems, a leading provider of membrane-based industrial wastewater treatment systems and aftermarket products and services. Headquartered in Burlington, New Jersey, and founded in 1978, Dynatec designs, builds, operates, and services systems that treat industrial wastewater for discharge and water reuse, serving blue-chip customers across end markets including food & beverage, automotive, data center, waste, and general manufacturing.
Astara will build on Dynatec’s technical leadership by investing in its team, growing its design-build-own-operate-maintain (DBOOM) and aftermarket service capabilities, and expanding into adjacent technologies and new end markets where demand for industrial water and wastewater treatment is accelerating. The investment is underpinned by powerful long-term tailwinds, including growing water scarcity, the reshoring of North American manufacturing, and tightening regulation of industrial discharge.
Following the transaction, Dynatec will be led by an accomplished leadership team. Hu Fleming, a longtime water industry leader and Astara strategic advisor, will join the Company’s Board of Directors as Executive Chairman. Tom Doherty, founder and President of Dynatec, will remain with the business and retain a meaningful ownership stake.
Vance Street and Keltec Complete Strategic Acquisition of AJR Filtration
Vance Street Capital’s portfolio company, Keltec Technolab (Keltec), announced the acquisition of AJR Filtration (AJR). Founded in 1997, AJR is a family-owned, Chicago-based manufacturer of process liquid and dust collection filtration products. AJR focuses on providing a diverse range of critical consumable filtration solutions across demanding applications.
Headquartered in Hudson, Ohio, Keltec specializes in designing, developing, and manufacturing an extensive array of filtration solutions for compressed air and hydraulic solutions across various industries, including general industrial, pharmaceutical, aerospace, and many others. Keltec’s products span from air/oil separators to air filters, oil filters, coalescing filters, hydraulic filters and refrigerated air dryers, all of which are essential in avoiding defects and extending the useful life of critical systems for its customers.
The acquisition of AJR will combine Keltec’s expertise in compressed air and hydraulic filtration with AJR’s decades-long experience in designing and manufacturing process liquid and dust collection filtration consumables. The combined organization will be a one-stop shop offering a broad portfolio of industrial filtration solutions to a global customer base.
WaterPure International Executes Research License Agreement with NASA
WaterPure International, Inc., a clean water technology company focused on identifying, developing and commercializing innovative water technologies, announced the execution of a Research License Agreement with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to evaluate advanced NASA-developed membrane and filtration technologies for potential industrial water applications.
The agreement represents another step in WaterPure’s strategy of expanding its technology portfolio through strategic licensing and collaboration with leading government agencies, research institutions and commercial partners. By evaluating innovative technologies with potential commercial applications, the company continues building a diversified portfolio designed to address growing global demand for sustainable water solutions.
Under the agreement, WaterPure will evaluate NASA-developed membrane and filtration technologies for potential application in industrial water capture and delivery systems serving markets that include agriculture, HVAC systems, data centers and U.S. military installations. The agreement is structured as a nonexclusive research license authorizing WaterPure to evaluate the licensed technologies for specified research purposes. Any future commercial use of the technologies would require a separate commercialization license with NASA.
Integrated Water Services Announces Acquisition of Advanced Equipment and Services
Integrated Water Services, Inc. (IWS), a pioneer in process water, modular wastewater treatment, and reuse systems, announced the acquisition of Advanced Equipment and Services, Inc. (AESINC), a Houston-based provider of reverse osmosis and water purification systems.
The acquisition adds reverse osmosis and desalination to IWS’s growing portfolio of process water, water treatment, wastewater, reuse, filtration, and lifecycle capabilities. AESINC’s modular and containerized solutions complement IWS’s focus on productized systems that can be deployed efficiently and scaled as customer needs evolve.
IWS is owned by Sciens Water, a prominent investor in the U.S. and global water sectors.
