Filtration leader wins significant contract with US microelectronics giant

One of the world’s leading producers of high performance filtration and separation technology has won a significant contract to supply a US-based microelectronics giant.

Porvair Filtration Group’s Boise Division, formerly TEM filters, is producing almost 4,500 filters for the global semiconductor design and manufacture specialist – mobilizing operations in record time to meet the challenge.

Porvair’s GasPro™ 500 filter’s unique benefits were identified by a well-known supplier of sophisticated silicon wafers as an ideal solution for the required retrofit application.

This highly efficient, high-performance filter is a PTFE membrane-based product that is sized for 25 scfm gas flow applications.

The filter is primarily used in Nitrogen purge gas, CDA, and many process gas applications.

The Gaspro 500 is now being retrofitted to a particular tool that utilizes Clean Dry Air, with the filtration leader ensuring that it is compatible with the four types of connections used by the original equipment manufacturer.

The leading manufacturer of microelectronics devices – whose analog and embedded processing products power electronics within many industries – was keen to realize marked energy savings as it looked to push air with less pressure drop across the filter, making Porvair’s Gaspro 500 series the desired choice.

The contract commenced with first deliveries in early June and was completed in early August.

President of Porvair, Kevin Nelson, said: “We are proud to be working with one of the largest and most innovative companies of its kind, delivering high quality solutions that help to realize value and drive greater efficiencies across its global operations.

“We are confident in our ability to deliver further value to the semiconductor design and manufacture leader as part of what we hope will be a strong and enduring relationship.

“The win also bears out our wider commitment to delivering fresh innovation to the semiconductor industry following significant investment in our Boise Division.”

Porvair Filtration Group – which has supplied the aerospace, nuclear, energy, process and bioscience industries with performance-driven filtration equipment for nearly 50 years – manufactures in both the US and UK and has an extensive network of sales offices and distribution channels throughout the world.
